For the last few weeks at the school in my Math, we had gone over many reviews in the book to refresh the brain from a long summer break. Reviewing lessons in the books, in a team, or with friends are all great. However today I want to share with you with a website which helps me so much review my lesson over this round one. Khan Academy is the greatest place to practice and learns literally almost everything you wish for. Last years I have introduced to this useful website. However, for just only this last few weeks which I feel really addicted to this website and like it a lot more since it’s helped me go through so much with my tough time learning math.
Discovering the world of technology is my routine since I was 5. This is why Technology/Multimedia class was one of my favorite class in the whole entire day. For this first round of the school years, we had to involve into the Digital and Technology Literacy, Introduction to Multimedia, and getting to know difference adobes program such as Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, and also get an Introduction to Programming. However among all of these lessons which I have learned so far, I one lesson which I really love the most is getting to know adobes program. Actually, about a year ago I had already learned to use all of this program and become really familiar with it already, and once my facilitator putting us homework that’s related to graphic design, I was having a really fun and fluency time doing it.
Here’s are some of my graphic design, poster, and digitals artworks.
Let me start off by asking you a question, what was the greatest killing machine of all time during the past 65 million years ago, that it even ended the life of dinosaurs. The rain of asteroids, and volcanoes eruptions right? Well, but this is 65 million years ago, we would probably even forgot about it. However let me tell you something; The greatest killing machine is responding again in a new form, new textures, and new process of killing, that will actually going to end all of our human life.
It’s it everywhere; It was only been was invented first for about a century ago. Eventually, do you know what is the most shocking facts about it? The actual first made of that’s product on Earth has not been decomposed yet and it’s ill never decompose.
Millions of tons single-use plastics had dumped into the landfills, oceans, farms and etc causing pollutions to every corner of our environment. Its long terms effect is killing sea creatures, animals on land, birds and even us. Now, I would not go into much deeper details about what are the effects of plastic because most of us probably know how harmful plastic are. Besides this, the only one thing that I do know for sure if there is a protection for this greatest killing machine.
We are from a small group of students called SAY NOT TO SINGLE-USE PLASTIC IN LIGER from the Liger Leadership Academy; We had created a project which we are going to eliminate single-use plastic in our school. We had spent 7 weeks totals working on this whole project which we had just lunch out first ever school campaign on the Friday 5th. We understand that this is one of the biggest world issues to solve. As the result, this is why we are only starting with our Liger family in our small school. We believe that’s our campaign is going to a substance for the rest of Liger by each and every one of us.
“One might not make a difference but together we can make changes” – Say No To Single-Use Plastic In Liger
Doing business has always been a part of my interest. The Entrepreneurship Exploration has taught me so many significant skill that’s related to business such as spending, selling, creating, and inventing. I was having so much fun learning in the exploration, it is one of my most enjoyable exploration of the year. However learning about business is not always as simple as some of us might think, there are a ton of challenge and issues once we start learning about the basic and getting to know about it. Although these problems are really difficult, from the bottom of my heart being a businessman has always been my dream career and there is nothing can stop my path. Which we actually earn the profit for about 150$ at the end of the exploration from our mini company called Be Ready.
As we all probably know that people with disability are often got stereotype and discriminate from the society. As a result of this, our Facilitator had led us an exploration called Disability which I’m also a part of the team. In this Exploration, we had done so many research on getting to know about people with disability and their difficulties in life. To add on this during halfway through the Exploration which is about the third weeks, one of our facilitators who lead the Podcast exploration had come back from his hometown. Meanwhile, all of the students in his team was the studying with the Disability exploration team while he was gone. However, after he was back he would like to find the new team who want to swap to the Podcast Exploration, which I’m also one of the people who switched. In the Podcast Exploration, we had combined the information that we had researched about people with disability to create four digital audio both in English and in Khmer about people with disability and their life. This exploration had solved a small part of the problem discrimination. It helps separate the news and true stories to the society and make them understand to create a change.
Statues, Statues are build everywhere around the world. However, do we all really know the history and meaning being each of it? These are all the problem that’s we as Liger students need to do something to make a change for this. Historical Symbolism is an Exploration which we had went to the six provinces in the western region of Cambodia such as Prust, Pailin, Kompong Speu, Kompong Chhnang, Battambang, and Banteymeanchay We had done many research and interview about every statue in each of that province. Most of the information of the statues had been published in our Historical Symbolism blog. Also, some of the information that we had research is also gonna be a part of the Cambodia Geography book. This is all of our product that’s we had done in this Exploration, that’s had made a small change to Cambodia.
Cambodia is a country that full of so many hidden Geography which no one has ever discovered. All of those natural resources, landforms, and tourists can be really attractive to so many tourism, which could lead us to the increment of our economy. After all, this reason as we are the next generation of Cambodian’s change agent we had come up with a 1 years project, which we are working on observing, researching, and gardening information to create the Cambodia Geography Book. This Cambodia Geography Book is going to publish on the …. September of 2018, along with both English and Khmer language. To add on this one of our main goal for the Book is to share is to every Government school in Cambodia along with putting on the market. We believe that’s is book will be going to play a big role in education, finding information, and attractive tourist, to know more about our wonderful Geography.
MUN which was known as Model United Nation is a program that allows young learners to have a chance debating on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from UN. MUN conference each student must represent one of the countries who are apart of the United Nation, and they are known as the delegate. The whole idea of this learning program is to teach and guide the next generation of students, to know more the about global issues that they are facing in modern days and how can they come up with ideas to solve it. It’s the allow them to think, learn, observer, collaboration, and doing research in order to solve the worldwide issues. This is why MUN has always become the most excited, and important event to many young learners heart, and that includes me.
The first Exploration that’s I have done this year (2016) that’s had to make a change for Cambodia is CWC which know as Clean Water Cambodia. My team and I had done so much discover and exploring in this exploration in order to make change for people. Our goals are to clean provide water for Cambodia, we had done the survey asking people about water sources that they are using, and according to the most result we had found out that many people do not have clean water to use or drink. The three main reason that people can’t have clean water to used is first is about time, second is they couldn’t afford it and thirdly is they can’t find a clean water body sources. In all of our seven weeks of research, we finally had come up with an idea to provide clean drinking water to Cambodian. RDI which knows as Resource Development International is as NGOs who sells the ceramic water filter to people at a price that’s they could afford it. RDI ceramic water filter can last for two years before we have to pay another 5$ to change the ceramic port, and it’s could clean the water up to 99%. To Sum up, CWC exploration is a really helpful exploration that helps change a small part of the problem in Cambodia.
